3:15PM - Eh-heh... o.o;
Yar... I am truly insane. I stayed up until - literally - 6:30 last night playing Black and White 2... God, that game is so addictive! x.x I started playing at 3-ish last night and then when I looked up at the clock it was 6:30! WTF? How can time pass that fast?!?! It defies logic.
Anyway, last night I also went to dinner with my friend Robin and two of his friends. Our favorite server got into a fight at work and had ended up getting fired about a week before, so that sucked. But we had a really cool guy that night who gave us the inside scoop on what happened and was very helpful in every other way, so it was an enjoyable evening. :) Also, last night I rebuilt my old computer with a low-end power supply, a DVD-ROM from my Dad's Power Mac G4, and my erased old hard drive (60 GB) and it's now fully functional again! :D I put Windows XP back on it for now, because I'm going to loan it to nelyab39 until he gets his PowerBook. However, in a month or two I'll get it back and turn it into a MythTV box so I can hook the ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon 8500DV that's in it up to the cable and record good TV shows. :)
Other than that, not much is up, other than it's fall break. I think I did reasonably well on my Japanese exam yesterday... I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm quite sure I got a B. *knocks on wood* I'm going to spend a good part of today reading and doing practice exams for the DSP quiz I have coming up on Friday. I *must* own that quiz, or my grade will probably be toast... >.> Furry movie night is also tonight at Tiger/Evan's house, so I'll be going to that. Then the next morning/early afternoon I'll be heading up to visit my parents for the rest of the break. So I'm going to try to relax, go on a ride or two, and get a nice, long hike in while I'm up there. :)
Welp, better be off to get a shower and eat, so I can get my day started... Woof with everyone soon! Hope you all have a good weekend.

These goddamn evil DSP labs... They always take so freaking long... I want the 8 hours of my life back! x.x
Oh well, done with work until after fall break! :D *celebrates* Well, sorta. Got a Japanese test Friday. Need to study my ass off so I can rock it hardcore. Everyone wish me luck. :)
Alas, alack... it is time for bed, methinks. See you all soon. Jaa ne...

Ell-oh-ell! XP I stole this off someone's LJ. I'm too lazy to see who it was to give them credit. Whoever it is, let it be known that I wanted to give you credit but was too much of a lazy bastard. ;P
Been doing ok lately. Decided not to drop DSP, despite my despicable grade on quiz 1. Gonna stick it out since I'm getting really good grades on HW and labs and see if studying my ass off for the other 2 quizzes will save my grade. Did ok on my Japanese Plain Form quiz today. One section of Diff Eq homework tonight was frustrating out the ass... Runge-Katta approximation with systems of differential equations is fucking awful. I decided after an hour of staring at the problem and the associated MATLAB code and not knowing what in the flying fuck to do with it to just say "screw it" and turn it in like it is. I think the most they'd take off is like 10 points, if they even notice it's not there. Rest of the HW made sense or at least was easy to copy out of the solutions manual. That thing has been the best $30 I've ever spent toward my sanity...
In other more geeky news, the USB KVM I got so I can switch between my PowerBook and my desktop while I'm sitting at my desk is about the best computer investment I've made lately. It's awesome and pretty easy, and my PowerBook looks about 1000% smoother on a CRT monitor. Also working on getting that power supply into my old compy, but that is contingent upon me not being swamped with HW, which will likely not be until fall break. Woo... ¬_¬ Also got my new fan in (the old one stopped turning one night... >.>) and it's working excellently. Honeywell r0x0rs the hardcore. :P
My face hurts. I think it's high time for bed. Damn me and my tendency to stay up way too late. It will be my downfall... v.v Anyway, hope everyone's well... Woof with you soon!

2:37AM - So.
KVM switches are definitely the coolest thing on planet earth. Never mind that I'm putting off studying for an exam to set it up... Now I can switch, with the touch of a button, between using my desktop PC and using my PowerBook, all with the same Logitech Elite Keyboard (awesome) and Apple Mighty Mouse (more awesome). This officially rocks the hardcore. Thank you, Belkin, for your awesomeness.
In other news, I also bought a power supply to set up my old computer and make it useful again... After which I will most likely loan it to nelyab39 since he doesn't have his PowerBook yet. Afterwards, once I get a TV, I'll wipe it and use it as a DivX/MythTV box. Ahh, the wonders of having an All-in-Wonder card... :)
Anyway, life's been going pretty well... Aside from getting pwned on the first DSP quiz, I'm doing pretty well in school. Just busy pretty much non-stop, since I have homework due 3 days out of a school week. I'm very much looking forward to fall break though, and being able to go visit my parents and the mountains for a little while.
In bitching news, GT parking gave me a ticket on Friday during the day when I had to drive all over hell's half-acre and even TALK to a parking person (in one of the little trucks) to find somewhere to park for the football game on Thursday. Those of you who know me know on how many levels this irritates me. 'Nuff said.
Anyway, I'd best be getting some rest if I want to get up and get stuff done tomorrow... G'nite all, and woof with you soon. :)

4:16AM - Yes... yes it is.
So, we were coming back to Perry after the PKT AM Party, themed after Alice in Wonderland and affectionately dubbed "Down the Rabbit Hole." Phillip, my incredibly intelligent friend who had not had one drop to drink, found it appropriate to say, "Wow... it's 3:40. That's pretty late."
Yes, Phillip.......... Yes, it is. A keen observation.
In other news, the PKT Fall 2005 AM party went extremely well. It was well attended, got raving reviews from brothers, females, and friends of the house alike, and was generally a blast. I supplied the food for it, and was pleasantly surprised to find that I got the perfect amount of just about everything. Mission complete! :D *chuh-ching* Also, AWA kicked ass. AMV Hell 3 and Iron Editor (Chef) were also great. Got two AWA 11 t-shirts and a bottle of ramuné in the dealer's room. Kinda bummed that I couldn't go to the rave, but I'm sure the party was just as entertaining. ^^
So now I'm exhausted, and about to go to bed so I can get up at the crack of dawn to go up to visit my parents and my grandfather. Toodle-oo, and hope everyone is having a great weekend. Wish me luck on my 3 exams on Monday... x.x *whimpers*

3:40AM - Strange...
So it was 2:30-ish... I'm walking back from the fraternity house and some guy is peeing in the bushes right next to my dorm. I thought that was especially odd, since I walked right by him and two guys were in a truck within viewing distance of him. Huh... people can be weird.
Anyway, I've gotten a bunch of work done this week in preparation for my extremely busy weekend and horrible Monday coming up. I put all of my upcoming dates and stuff into iCal so I will have a harder time forgetting them. I also got my Psychology reading report done, so I don't have to do it over the weekend. In addition to having the reading report due Monday, I'm also going to be having a Differential Equations exam and a DSP quiz (read: test). Ouch. So I'm not looking forward to it at all. And I'm also going to be doing lots of studying tomorrow, Friday and Sunday. Hopefully the AM test won't be hard on Sunday so I can just study for the exams. Anyway, I'm off to bed... I was over at the house getting interviews (which I will also not be able to do this weekend) until about an hour ago, so I'm exhausted now. Anyway, woof with you soon, and I wish everyone the best in the near future.

7:22PM - Yar!
This might sound a little asshole-ish, but I think it needs to be said.
Attention all parents: Stop bringing your screaming children to Costco.
Costco is not a place for small children. Kids are not amused by shopping the way adults are. All they are going to do is wail and whine or, worse, scream and run around in front of other, perhaps elderly, patrons of the establishment. About the only thing they will do other than this is beg, wheedle and whine when you pass the video game secton to get them a Nintendo DS, PSP or a Gamecube, and/or a game for one of these systems. Simply put: leave kids at home when you come shopping at Costco. Or sedate them when you come. Both are acceptable.
Ok, now that that's over, news. ;P This weekend was largely uneventful, mostly because the two plans that I had ended up falling through. The Japanese festival that I thought was this weekend ended up being next weekend, so my friend nelyab39 and I just went to the Mall of Georgia and bought things. Also, the plans I had for a party that evening also ended up not happening, so I just ended up playing video games with nelyab39 all evening. ;) W00t. Played some Goldeneye 007 for N64, which I haven't played in years. Very nostalgic. :P
So now I'm back after I got prices at Costco (where I encountered the screaming children) for the AM Party at Phi Kap this weekend. Also bought a new pillow because the one I have is getting pretty old. Also bought a TI-89 Titanium off eBay the other night, and should be getting that soon. Other than that, just have some Diff Eq and DSP homework to work on tonight... And I'll probably go over and get some interviews at PKT. All in all, a pretty lazy weekend.
AWA and the AM party coming up next weekend... with any luck, the AM party will be moved so I won't have to leave one to go to the other. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for that. ;) Hope everyone is doing well and had an enjoyable weekend... Woof with you soon.

3:51AM - I am sooooo lame... :P
I just spent almost an hour reading posts from my journal wayyyy in the past. What a dork I am. :P It reminded me how much I used to love LJ though. Wish I was still that enthusiastic about it... I just have way too much going on now though! ;) Who knows, maybe my interest will renew. However, it's almost 4 a.m. and my attention span and energy levels are waning... I just spent about 30 seconds staring at my wallet and not knowing why. So think I'll head to sleep. Laters, all...
Tracks and a howl,
^ (the space makes it better, I think)
P.S. All these songs I put are usually in my head, just FYI. Or I listened to them very recently.
So I'm over at the fraternity and I want a soda. I'm feeling adventurous, so I hit the "push your luck" button. Out pops Diet Dr. Pepper.
Now, I'm not normally fond of diet drinks, so I'm a little bummed. But hey, I've had some diet drinks, e.g. Diet Mountain Dew and Fresca, that taste pretty good... even close to the real thing. However. In this case I was to be reminded of why I truly dislike diet drinks. I took a swig and quickly reached this infallible conclusion:
Diet Dr. Pepper = ass.
That is all...

2:28AM - T3hn Ddrunken LJ Post
Holy scrap I'm drunk. ^^ I just wnet to the first party at Phi Kappa Theta. It was awesome and theytre were lots of drinnks.I'm probably making a lot of typos and I'll [robably catch them all tomorrow but I don't really care right now. At least I can still touch-type. I had a lot of ifun and they played several songs that I knew and we danced, especiallly to "American Pie". So I fee lreally good right now and sleepy, and awesome. Alcohol so totally kicks ass, man. Also, wireless kicks ass as well. I started off witha Dead Nazi and prgreesssed to an Orgasm and a Lust. All of them tasted great. ;) So yes, tonight was awesome. Fun was had by all. I think the greatest amusement is coming from all the dypos I'm making and not coorrecting. ^^ So anyway, I hope everyone else hade a good Saturday, and I'll talk to you soon. Take care,

10:11PM - La de dum, la de dee...
So my car decided to die on the way up here (to visit my parents in the mountains) this weekend. Well, more like commit seppuku. Only I guess it wasn't that bad... Anyway, my friend Chris and I were meeting his dad so that he could stay at home for the next few days, so we walked into the drugstore where we were supposed to meet him to get a few things. This lady comes into the store about a minute or two later and asks if we had come in in a black Camry. Chris replied that yes, we had, and she informed him that she had heard a bursting noise come from the engine and that a bunch of fluid had fallen out of the front of the car. Great. So lets me know about this, and after a mini-fiasco involving CVS trying to charge me the price of a multi-pack of bottled water for a single bottle, I go out to find my engine steaming/smoking. I pop the hood to find little pieces of hose all over the engine. Not good. I soon discover the culprit is one of the main radiator hoses, running along the top of the engine. So Chris' dad arrives about this time and we mull over the possibilities. We finally decide to go back to Chris' place and patch up the hose with some form of tape (we ended up adding a little section of hose that was a little bigger in diameter to help reinforce it) and drive it about 100 yards down the road to a repair place. So we dropped the key in the door, and Chris' dad helped me get over to Ellijay where my mom met me and brought me up home. So that was a big ordeal... :P But it was already fixed when I called this morning to check on it and I'll be going over tomorrow afternoon to pick it up, so... all's well that ends well, I guess.
This weekend has been pretty boring, just helping my dad move furniture into his "office", that is, our trailer up the road that we used to stay in on our weekend trips up here, in the sweltering heat. Boolean Death = Summer.heat() + Georgia.humidity();. And yes System.out.println(Death) yields true. Oh, what the weeks of Java/JSP programming have done to me... Anyway, it has not been fun. The only enjoyable parts were having steak for dinner and getting a nice long shower. Hopefully tomorrow will be a bit cooler, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
In other news, my friend Nathan is moving into the dorm on Saturday... So my dorm will be a little less empty/lonely. And soon I will also be bringing a sofa down to make the room a little more comfy. :) So I'm looking forward to all that. RTA training is also on Wednesday, so I'll have 4 hours of learning the proper Tech way of fixing computers. :P RTA work begins Thursday and lasts until move-in is over, so I will be busy for quite some time. Also something I'm looking forward to, especially getting paid. ^^
I guess that's about it for now... Hope everyone is doing well, as usual. Take care, and woof with you soon.
Tracks and a howl,
Edit: Forgot to mention going to Club Europe on Saturday night with friends ghost429 and nelyab39. I missed a furry movie night, but I think it was worth it... We danced for about 3 hours straight, the music was excellent for the most part, and we even got to yell out the words to "Dragostea Din Tei" at one point when they played it. ^^ All in all, a terrific night. Would love to do it again sometime soon.

And I'm still about the same. ;) Not any big difference here... But I thought I'd post since I just finished up my first co-op work term. I really enjoyed it (especially getting paid) and I ended up learning a lot, especially about JSP and Java Enterprise Edition. I'm looking forward to going back in January for the spring term.
I'm also moved into my new dorm... I'm back in traditional housing for the fall and spring. The apartment-style housing was awesome though... I can't wait until I can get a bunch of friends together in an apartment. That'll kick so much ass. ;) The new dorm is cold, probably because all of the air conditioners are on full-blast in the unoccupied rooms right now, but I hope that will pass. It's also better than it being too hot, which I would severely dislike. My parents are also pretty much moved in in the mountains now, and I'm going up on Monday and Tuesday to help my dad move his office stuff up into the trailer. That will be a big step toward getting them completely settled in.
I'm also getting ready for my RTA (Residential Technical Assistant) job, where I'll be fixing up people's computers to get them on the residential network. I have training on Wednesday and the job starts on Thursday. Luckily I'll have the evenings off to do whatever I want to do. Plus I'll be getting paid. ;) Always nice.
It'll be nice to get back to class, but I do sort of feel like this summer went by really fast... But I guess this is only going to be a more and more familiar feeling as I get older. I think I learned a lot and had an enjoyable summer though, so I'm happy. :) I'm looking forward to upgrading my computer as well... something that hasn't been done for about 5 years.
Anyway, that's about all I have for now... Hope everyone is well. Woof with you soon; most likely detailing my computer upgrade. ;)

4:13PM - AC R0x0rs my b0x0rz! :P
Woof from Anthrocon... I'm having a good time here, we're staying at the Embassy Suites about a block and a half from the con hotel. There are tons of people here... way more than I've seen at any con before. We're looking forward to 2's show later tonight, followed quickly by the improv show. I've been busy buying comics, including Circles 6, which has been highly anticipated. :) Also got a comic with some Adam Wan stuff in it, so I'm happy about that. Had a good night's sleep last night, so I'm pretty energetic today. The internet at my hotel (and the con hotel) costs money. >_< But Tigerden Internet is here and providing free access, so that's how I'm writing this. ;) The flight up from Atlanta was good, despite being delayed due to rainly conditions here in Philly. The clouds cleared last night though, so it's quite beautiful and warm here now. That's about all I have to report for now... I'll be sure to give more details after I get home on Sunday. Woof with you later!

Well, here we are, and it's summer... Yes, that dreamy time of relaxation and recumbence... Except I'm not doing any of that. ;P
So about my severe lack of any entries over the past few months... I've thought of writing in here maybe 5 times, but was always too tired or busy to do it. ;) My new co-op job is going great; they gave me a kick-ass laptop loaded up with all the extras... and it still gets 5 hours of battery life. *wags* X) I've been riding the rail system to work every day, so I've been doing my part to save the evironment. (I really can't wait to get a hybrid car, though.) Just this past weekend I also got my bike fixed, so I no longer have to rely on the fantastically slow university shuttles to get me over to the rail station. I just rode over for the first time today, and WOW... I am out of shape. ;P My lack of DDR and... well, almost all physical activity, save for walking all over Atlanta to get to/from work and around campus, has really sapped my lower-body strength. However, I just found out that the student rec center moved the DDR machine(s?) up to the music listening room, so I'l psyched about that. And all the biking to and from the rail station that I will be doing over the next few weeks should do something to rebuild my legs to their former "bristling-with-power" state. :P
Aside from working, I haven't been doing a whole lot. Last month I went to RCFM, which was a good deal of fun. I contributed lots of my funds to the charity auction, so I felt good about myself and got some cool stuff to boot. ;) I also went to Renaissance Festival that same weekend, and although it was pouring rain, we still managed to have a really good time.
I work for an open-source software company, so I've been learning JSP and J2EE in order to assist with support and back-end tools. It's been a ride, but JSP is starting to make sense and I think I'll feel a lot better once I build my own apps and try them out. I've also been updating our internal Wiki with documentation and other bits of knowledge, which I think has been more interesting than learning to code. ;P All in all it's a great job, and I'm learning a lot.
My parents recently sold their house, but it looks like the contract might be falling through... I'm hoping it won't, because they were very excited about getting it sold. The original plan was that they would be moved up to the mountains by the end of the month, but that doesn't look realistic anymore. I'm keeping my fingers crossed and positive energy flowing toward them in hopes that things turn out for the best and the house sells quickly.
In other news, I'm looking for ways to spend my new-found wealth (wages ;P), so I decided to upgrade my computer. I should be getting an Athlon 64 3200+, an ATI All-in-Wonder Radeon X600Pro, a 250 GB SATA hard drive, and a new black case. Memory I've decided to keep for now, but I will be upgrading soon. So I'm looking forward to that, pending the availability of my funds after I pay for AppleCare for my PowerBook tomorrow.
Also, in case any of you have been wondering why I haven't been online much... I'm usually way too tired to deal with a bajillion people IMing me at night. ;) I love you all, but my daily schedule usually looks like this:
1) Wake up 2-3 times before alarm clock goes off
2) Hit snooze 2-3 times when alarm finally goes off
3) Drag semi-concious carcass to rail station
4) Work for 8 hours, usually desiring nap around 2-3 o'clock but unable to get one
5) Drag exhausted carcass home
6) Eat something, hopefully enough to fill me up
7) Attempt to hang out with friends or watch anime until sleepy
8) Collapse into bed and pray I don't wake up too early like I normally do
So as you can see, I'm not too keen on managing conversations with 6-10 people. ;) But I will attempt to get on when I feel up to it. Thank you for your continued patience and concern. ^^
For those of you that didn't know, Kyle moved back home at the end of last month... It's a pretty complicated issue that I don't really want to discuss with everyone, but he is faring well now from what I can tell. I've tried to keep in contact, but it's hard to reach him on the phone or through the internet. So things are pretty up in the air right now... I'm hoping for guidance and that everything will turn out okay with him.
So anywho... as for future events, the only things on the horizon are Batman Begins at the IMAX tomorrow night, Dear Friends: Music from Final Fantasy (an orchestral concert of Final Fantasy music) closer to the end of the month, and AC at the beginning of July. :) So the horizons are lookin pretty decent for the good ol' IC. ;) I'd best be getting ready for bed... I'll try to woof again soon though. Take care everybody!

And here it is! XD It's been so great going through final exams, let me
tell you. ;P But now it's finally summer... I can relax for a week or
two, then I get to start my new job at JBoss, where I will be making
much more money than before. ;) I'm really excited, and REALLY anxious
to get some money again. I need to buy a new cell phone, because my
current one has been doing some weird stuff lately... it's been a great
little phone, but it's starting to have some weird little quirks. Plus
I want one with Bluetooth ^^. So that will happen pretty soon after I
start my new job. I'm also hoping to buy tickets to see Dear Friends:
Music from Final Fantasy later this month. Also being postponed until I
get money. ;) Margaret Cho should also be awesome, but that's on the
horizon... in about a month. Otherwise, I'm doing peachy. I hope my
finals went well... *prays to the Powers that Be that they did* ;) And
I'm looking forward to a good summer! Woof with you all later, and good
luck to those of you with finals still to come! :)

3:42PM - Update time.
Woohoo, seeing as it's almost Spring break and I finally have some time to update LJ, here's some bitching and a catch-up on what's been going on in my life.
To start off, here's what made me want to write an LJ entry. I know this will probably be kind of a touchy issue, but I really don't care right now. A funny thing happens when you go to college, at least it has for me. It seems like practically all of my friends from high school that go here have all but forgotten about me. I'm sure being on different sides of campus hasn't helped any, but I have heard maybe once or twice from them asking to hang out since we've started going to school here. Now this hasn't bothered me too much up until now... You know, people change and get new friends when they're in a different environment and stuff. But I spoke with 3 of said friends on multiple occasions about rooming together for the fall semester. Never heard back from any of them. Then I find out when I call today to inquire as to what's going on that they've already signed up without me. Well, I'll let you guess how that makes me feel.
So in other news... sepffuzzball has withdrawn from school, for medical reasons. He's all right, he just has to get some things sorted out and earn some money to continue classes in the future. He's moved in with our friend Evan, and I've been going to visit him quite a bit. Things are looking up for him, because he's found a job already and had a successful interview where they told him he basically has the position. So things in that department are good.
In computer-type news, I've upgraded my RAM in my PowerBook from 256 MB to 1.25 GB... needless to say, it's a huge increase in performance. GarageBand will actually open now, which is definitely beneficial. And other programs run... well... like buddah. It's the shit, I would heartily recommend more RAM for any Mac user. ;) I'm also considering buying World of Warcraft today or soon... It's a pretty nice game, from what I've seen, and practically all of my friends that I hang out with play it. Also, I can play it on my laptop or my PC, since WoW is cross-platform... So I dunno, we'll see how that goes.
My parents have also been coaxing me home lately to help them out doing things around the house. They're selling our house this Spring, and moving up to the north Georgia mountains, so I've been helping them clean and pack stuff (mostly my stuff, since I'm rarely there to use it) up to move. They've also gotten the carpets cleaned and the driveway pressure-washed, so it won't be too long till I'm down here all alone in the city (family-wise, anyway :P). My parents are all excited about getting out of Atlanta... frankly I don't really blame them. The air quality here sucks and the traffic is awful. ;) But since I'm going to college here, I don't have much of a choice for the next 5 or so years.
I've also been interviewing for summer co-op positions... I've already had one with GTRI and missed one due to a time mix-up. The GTRI job looks promising and interesting... I would be helping to design and test communications electronics, or perhaps helping to manage and test computer systems. Both I would enjoy immensely, of course, since I love computers. I also have interviews with two other Atlanta companies at the end of the month, both of which look like they could be cool. But I've got my fingers crossed that GTRI will get back to me. ;)
Also, I recently helped beta test The Matrix Online... it was a cool game, and had its merits and cool areas... But all-in-all, it would not be a game I would be willing to pay a monthly fee for. But, it was cool while it lasted. And I'm sure the 1337 h@><0rz that end up playing it will have a ball. ;)
FWA was about a month ago... It was extremely cool and I had a ton of fun. I also volunteered so much that I was recognized at the closing ceremonies and given a gift. ^__^ It was really cool, and they gave me free admission to next year's con as well. The Board of Directors have also talked me into being on staff as the volunteer coordinator next year... It seems like a pretty weighty job, but I think I'll be able to run it pretty well. :) So, obviously I'm looking forward to that!
That's about all I can think of that's happened recently... Hopefully I'll feel more in the mood of keeping my LJ up-to-date in the future... I just haven't wanted to write my thoughts and activities down lately, I suppose. No particular reason, just something that happened. :P Anyway, at the very least I should get back into the LJ groove this summer, when there's NO SCHOOL! ^^ I can't wait until May 6... freedom's just under two months away! XD Anyway, take care everyone, and I'll woof with you later.
